We are continuing to minister to those in our community and world. Our weekly Community Dinners are continuing to provide take-out meals to those in need. We've expanded the number of people on our weekly paper mailing list to include all members and friends without email. We've delivered several hundred bulletins to area care facilities to help their residents feel spiritually connected. Our administrative staff and pastor are working extra hard these past ten months as we adapt to changes happening almost every day. While we can't gather in person, your financial support helps us continue to minister in new and old ways to our community, compensate our staff, and maintain our beautiful church buildings until we can meet again. Thank you to all who have continued to mail in your pledges and offerings.

Generous Living is Generous Giving

Dear siblings in Christ,

Over the past several weeks we have talked about what it means to live generously. To live generously means that we think that other people and even all of creation deserve to enjoy the richness of God’s creation just as much as we do. To live generously means that we understand we were created to be in community with creation. Living generously means that we cannot be at peace while our siblings struggle.

I would like 2023 to be the year of living generously by giving generously. Let us be people giving love generously in our community, giving hope, giving grace, and giving freely of our resources. This is how we can grow our congregations—by living generously and giving generously.

As we near the end of 2022, our congregations have not yet met our budgeted giving needs. The year is not over, and we can still meet our goals. Each congregation needs about $10,000 to prevent us from having to use any of our endowed or restricted funds. If you are able, please give a special gift toward these deficits before the end of 2022.

As we look forward to 2023, the needs of the Gospel continue within our congregations and outside of our congregations. We want to increase our Worship attendance and increase our sharing of the Gospel. To do this we need to be free from worrying about our finances. Your financial commitment will help make this possible.

If every household of MCM gave $2500 per year, we would easily be able to meet the vision your Council and Session have discerned to meet the Gospel needs in our community. We understand that not every household is able to give at this level, yet many individuals and households do have the resources to give above this level.

Please complete the Generosity Estimate form (print a copy using the PDF link below, or pick one up at either church location). Bring it to Worship or mail it to the Church Office. You can also simply send an email to info@mcmunited.com stating your estimate of giving. Because of you we can teach the Gospel, do the work of Christ, worship God, and—with Christ—transform our community.

Grace and Peace,

The Rev Dr Matthew L Sauer, Pastor
